John and Amy Herdman joined our ministry in 2020. He accepted Christ as a young person under the ministry of his pastor. John surrendered to preach during his first year of college, and he attended Bible College in Ohio. Mrs. Herdman grew up in West Virginia. Pastor Herdman met his wife, Amy, while they were seniors in high school. John and Amy were married in 1993. God has blessed their family with one son and two daughters.

Pastor and Amy are delighted to be part of the family at Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church. They are excited to serve the members as well as Gray and surrounding areas.

Daniel Wakefield was born and raised in Southwest Michigan. In the summer of 1999, his mother shared the plan of salvation with him, and he accepted Christ as his Savior. As a teenager, Daniel responded to the Lord’s call to preach the gospel while at a youth retreat. He enrolled in West Coast Baptist College in Lancaster, California in the fall of 2010. Following graduation, he spent three months at Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church as part of an internship.

Rebekah grew up in a pastor’s home in Pennsylvania and accepted Christ as her Savior as a young girl. Knowing the Lord wanted her in His service, she also attended West Coast Baptist College where she met Daniel. She graduated in May 2015 with a degree in secondary education.

Daniel and Rebekah were married and joined the staff of BRBC during the summer of 2015. God has blessed their family with three boys. Daniel serves as Associate Pastor. The Wakefields love to serve God together and desire to reach people with the gospel and to assist them in building their lives upon the Word of God.

Kyle and Anna Snyder were both privileged to grow up in ministry homes. Kyle was born in Alaska, while his parents served as missionaries there. After the first few years in Alaska, Kyle and his family moved to Chattanooga, TN. This became home for the next 18 years.

Anna was born and raised in the Charlotte, North Carolina area where she grew up in a pastor’s home. Both Kyle and Anna were saved at a young age and felt called to serve in full time ministry. They met while attending West Coast Baptist College. Kyle graduated in May 2020, and Anna graduated in December of the same year. They were married in January 2021.

The Lord directed their steps to Buffalo Ridge where Kyle serves as the Student Pastor. They are excited for the things God has in store for the future of Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church!

Dr. Eugene (Gene) Lasley was the pastor of Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church, Gray, Tennessee, for 46 years.  Pastor Lasley retired in 2009 and is now Pastor Emeritus of Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church and is engaged in pulpit supply, revivals and conferences as the Lord opens the door.

He attended Southern Mississippi University, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and graduated from Bob Jones University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1954 and a Master of Christian Education in 1956. Bob Jones University conferred on him the Doctor of  Humanities degree in May of 1976.  He was named to the Junior College All-American Football Team in 1951 while attending the Jones County Junior College located in Ellisville, Mississippi, and started as an offensive guard on the Southern Mississippi team that played in the Sun Bowl in El Paso, Texas, on January 1, 1953.

Preacher Lasley is married to Ellen, and they have three children, Laurie, Calvin, and Torrey.
