Are You Sure About Eternity?

We all face some really big questions about eternity! What happens after I die? Where will I spend eternity? The most important question concerning eternity is, “If I were to die today, would I spend eternity in Heaven with God?” The key to the answer of this question is your relationship to Jesus Christ. The Bible says in 1 John 5:13, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life…” Simply stated, God wants you to know where you are going and He has provided a way to know heaven will be your eternal home.

Recognize that you are a sinner.

What is sin? Sin is anything we think, say, or do that breaks God’s law.
In God’s law we find the “Ten Commandments.” Included in these commandments are commands not to lie, or steal. If you were tried for the crime of lying or stealing, could you be found guilty on any occasion? The Bible tells us in Romans 3:23 that “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Every person is guilty of sin; no one is exempt from it.

Realize that sin has a price that must be paid.

Romans 6:23 states, “For the wages of sin is death.” The “wage” or payment for our sin is spiritual death, and eternal separation from God.

Realize that Christ came to pay the price for you.

Romans 5:8 states that “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Even while we were sinners, God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die in our place. John 3:16 explains, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” God loves us and has offered eternal life to whoever is willing to accept His free gift.

Accept the free gift of salvation.

Jesus said: “He that believeth on me hath everlasting life” (John 6:47). Going to Heaven isn’t about being good or religious. It’s about trusting Christ alone. Call out to Him, ask Him to come into your life, save you from sin, and give you His gift of eternal life. It’s the best decision you will ever make. “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13).

If you believe that Jesus died to pay for your sins and would like Him to forgive you, save you from Hell, change your life, and take you to Heaven when you die, He will if you pray and ask Him. Please understand that these are not special words. Repeating the words of a prayer cannot save you. Instead, it is belief in your heart that saves you. If you believe what the Bible says about you and what it says about Jesus, and you desire to be saved from your sins and changed then ask Jesus to save you by praying something like this.

“Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and that because of my sins I deserve to go to Hell. I believe that You are God and that You died on the cross to pay for my sins because I couldn’t pay for them myself. I believe that You rose from the grave three days later so You could give me everlasting life. Please forgive me of my sins and save me from Hell and take me to Heaven to be with You when I die. Amen.”

If you accepted Jesus we would love to rejoice with you!
